Fate version 0.9:

Fate devlog 0.9:

This devlog will go over everything added since version 0.8, this includes:

Subclass system

Updated tutorial to teach players about the subclass

Updates to the tutorial boss code

Subclass added:

The players now have access to a subclass menu, in this menu players are able to switch their jump, melee, grenade and super. Most changes are slightly minor changes to how things work, all the subclass options are as so:

Double jump - Your usual double jump works like you'd expect.

Blink - Replaces double jump, teleports the player to the object you're looking at if its in range.

Weighted throwing knife - Wind up a throw to deal increased damage to a target with a heavier knife.

Fan knives - Replaces the weighted throwing knife, throw out a fan of knives forwards to deal less damage to more enemies.

Incendiary grenade - Works like a normal grenade, throw it forwards and have it explode near enemies for some damage.

Fusion grenade - Replaces the incendiary grenade, throw it towards an enemy and if it gets close enough it will stick to them for increased damage.

Marksman golden gun - Cast your super and get a golden gun that does massive damage in three shots.

Six shooter golden gun - Replaces marksman golden gun, cast your super and get a golden gun that deals big damage in six shots.

The subclass menu has tooltips when hovering over each option so players know what they're using the menu and tool tips look like such:

Updated tutorial for subclass usage:

The tutorial has been slightly updated for the player to be able to see how to access the subclass menu, it is now between the grenade and melee tutorial and the enemy killing tutorial and reads as follows:

Updated boss code:

The tutorial boss has had some minor tweaks since last devlog where I have changed the attack code to no longer need to hit a one in five chance to attack the player, this is due to the arena having a lot of places for the player to hide meaning that on top of having to hit the one in five it also has to be hit as the player is in the open, so to compensate for this if the player is in the open and the attack script plays the player will take damage.

Going forward:

The next version of fate will now be the definitive release version, I am hoping to have an options menu with some form of saving and loading mechanics introduced for the player to be able to change a few options and also fixing any bugs that have been located in that time.
