Fate Devlog: Version 0.5

This devlog will go over everything added since version 0.4, this includes:

Sinners Den Basic Map

Weapon Audio For Reloading And Shooting

Basic Start Of Enemy AI

Player Health Updates


Sinners Den Map:

In this version I added the first area of the Sinners Den map this includes two balconies a side room and the main objective which will allow the player to move to the next section after fighting three waves of enemies, the players will have to go and interact with the objective to allow the waves to start spawning, here is an early preview of this map:


In later versions of this project I intend to extend the map to have more areas which allow for better use of snipers such as an open field to be able to shoot enemies from far away.


Weapon Audio:

I have now added multiple pieces of audio all taken from Pixabay, the added audio includes:

Auto Rifle Shooting

Scout Rifle Shooting

Rifle Reloading

Shotgun Shooting

Shotgun Reloading

Sniper Shooting

Sniper Reloading

Rocket Shooting

Rocket Reloading


All of these audio sources will have the links to the creators pixabay accounts in the read me of the file for the game.


Basic enemy AI:

The game now has its first basic enemy, they can currently chase the player down, shoot at them and have a chance to miss later in development I want to add the ability for them to back up and scurry away if the player gets too close to them, currently it looks like this:



Player health updates:

The players health has now been updated to be shown whenever they are shot or when they start healing, after reaching max health the players health bar will disappear off the screen to stop the screen from getting too cluttered, the health bar will also turn red if the players health is less than 30%, and then will switch back to a white health bar when they're above 30% health, this just makes it slightly easier to see at a quick glance how much health you have left, the health bar looks like this:




Going forward

For the next version of Fate I'm intending on starting work on getting the objective and enemy waves to work and also potentially updating the enemy AI to have more mechanics and adding another enemy.
